Position Overview
  • The Vendor Management Project Manager -IT will be responsible for managing the relationship with the selected set of niche / specialist partners for our client’s IT organization. This will include managing contract extensions and change orders as well as keeping up the overall relationship between our client’s IT organization and the partners.
  • Responsibilities include collaboration with internal and external teams in support of the purchase of goods, services or works for IT, as well as, the support of monitoring and managing the niche partner’s service delivery, relationship, contract and financial management requirements.
  • Work with partners to drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, cost control, and risk mitigation over time through a structured approach that maximizes our mutual success.
  • Manage and lead strategic partner negotiations where necessary; make final decisions regarding strategic partner support. Leverage partner management and governance services tools and technology platforms when/where appropriate.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage the relationship with niche partners/vendors
  • Ensure alignment of partner services with business needs
  • Ensure partners fulfill contract commitments and obligations and monitor performance
  • Establish and maintain an escalation process for partner engagements
  • Maintain and administer document repositories for contract engagement documents as appropriate
  • Review and validate SLA (service level agreement) reports
  • Track and escalate issues to resolution as required related to partner engagements and performance
  • Review monthly Partner Performance Reports to monitor partner service delivery
  • Provide and manage formal review and approval mechanisms to ensure partner contract compliance
  • Document and reduce partner risk associated to contractual and engagement activities
  • Adhere to a standardized approach to manage partners
  • Conduct feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance, and ROI analyses for proposed projects
  • Develop project budget for budget request purposes
  • Lead the development of RFP/RFI process
  • Develop project plans, manage resources, project schedule and budget to meet deliverables
  • Actively manage the execution of the project, including assigning tasks to project staff, managing project scope and project finances, and ensures the quality of deliverables
  • Integrate the work of large teams and multiple vendors to deliver project success
  • Oversee all phases of the project, coordinating with business sponsors, vendors, and other relevant areas of IT.
  • Ensure deliverables and commitments are met and the project is in compliance with relevant standards and methodologies
  • Proactively lead and execute project risk management and mitigation
 
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and BS in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience, or an M.S.
  • 6+ years of relevant project management experience, PMP certification desired
  • Clear vision with a track record of vendor management in an extended enterprise environment
  • Ability to collaboratively and positively influence niche partners, customers and internal team members
  • Proven track record in developing and executing plans, influencing skills, managing projects and leading collaborative relationships in a cross-functional team environment
  • In depth understanding of the SDLC, including agile development methodology, and how to apply them for relevant projects. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of IT functions and services and experience managing teams supporting an IT organization
  • Commodity knowledge, specifically in the Information Technology space including and not limited to hardware, licensing, professional services and outside services workers
  • Experience negotiating and drafting contracts
  • Working knowledge in the continuous improvement process; knowledge of regulatory requirements as it relates to suppliers and supplied products, services or works
  • Seasoned expertise in project management methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with many technologies, with particular focus on their capabilities and limitations. Successfully integrates across multiple and complex technologies and systems
