Job description
-Involved in the development and implementation of the organization's information systems and tools that are applied to clinical information.
-Work closely with clinicians to optimize effective use of systems. Coordinate analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics. Provide customer service, troubleshooting and maintenance.
 
Responsibilities
-Perform basic design, development, modification and debugging of software.
-Analyze existing software or formulate logic for basic systems, prepares basic specifications and performs coding.
-Collaborate with business, technical, and clinical leaders to plan, develop, implement, and analyze highly-complex clinical informatics systems, and design integrated architecture to ensure an optimal and efficient user experience and functionality, integrity, and reliability of systems.
-Collaborate with business operations, healthcare clinicians, and IT applications and technical teams to translate operations workflow and patient experience objectives into technical requirements.
-Lead project teams to improve clinical informatics results and provide advice
-Perform highly-complex quality assurance testing, design and run SQL queries for enhanced and complex medical data access.
-Plan, develop, and write documentation.
 
Skills and Experience
-Knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in controlled terminology, clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration and mining, clinical ontologies or adoption of technology
-Knowledge of relevant clinical informatics software and systems and of best practices, regulations, and standards involved with patient care and electronic medical data management in large healthcare systems,
-Advanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
-Strong interpersonal communications skills, to convey highly technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical users in a clear and concise manner through technical support and training materials.      
-Analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, design and run queries, collect and analyze performance data, and produce sophisticated reports and analyses for management use.
   
Education and Certification
Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area preferred         
Certification: Epic Clarity Data Model  preferred
