International Benefits Specialist II

Location: Foster City, ca
We’re seeking an International Benefits Specialist II to support the day-to-day administration of our worldwide retirement, health and welfare, and time off benefit programs in over 35 countries outside the United States. These programs include health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, defined contribution retirement plans, annual leave, public holidays and other time off benefits.  

This individual will be the primary point of contact for Human Resources and other business partners on escalated issues and problem resolution; will evaluate and interpret Company benefits policies and procedures to ensure compliance; will work closely with third-party service providers on operational issues and strategic planning; and will participate in complex benefits projects.

  • Work with and report to the Senior Manager, International Benefits, to implement new benefit programs and improvements and enhancements to existing benefit programs
  • Provide subject matter expertise in worldwide employee benefit programs and processes;
  • Provide worldwide benefits database user support, including the setup of new user accounts and basic user training on new and existing functionality
  • Effectively communicate the Company's benefit programs in regard to plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements
  • Design and distribute easy, user-friendly communication materials for orientations and our Company intranet
  • Work with our Payroll team to ensure all benefit-related deductions and reporting of taxable benefits are correct
  • Troubleshoot deduction or eligibility issues
  • Manage third-party service providers, including the review of statements of work and conducting vendor searches
  • Provide ongoing support to develop and champion onsite employee benefit events;
  • Participate in benefit surveys to collect and analyze competitive information to determine the Company's competitive position
  • Ensure that benefits plans are administered according to plan provisions;
  • Assume responsibility for compliance with all Company and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist with vendor implementations, and other special projects as needed.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years’ experience with worldwide benefit programs with an understanding of the complexity of business on a worldwide scale;
  • Embrace cultural and individual differences with empathy and work with the nuances of specific local cultures to make informed decisions;
  • Demonstrate a balanced company and client-focused approach to problem solving;
  • Prioritize daily issues, tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment;
